Despite it is not my first web conference, this one was very unique because it was my first time as a presenter. We had 100 attendees. I am surprise that we had 46 or 56 sections in this course so far sure quite a long list of students. Even with the short cuts on budgets, I think if we are more prepared we are most likely to be able to keep or find other job. To make me a presenter, I just clicked at the bottom of the picture on the camera icon.

One of the topics was the requirement to acquire as soon as possible the e-portfolio TK20. This is one extraordinary tool to have to be part of the resume to find a future job as administrator. Possible employers will find our work on previous courses.

Dr. Abernathy highlighted the importance as future principals and students that will be certified as principals need to be technology leaders and model technology approaches to teachers, staff and students. As future principals we will be in charge and need understand the state and national plans on technology and we need to understand the requirement to complete as a district the STaR Chart.

Web conferences are a great place to clarify any possible questions and misunderstanding about the course as well all other requirements for graduation and principal certification. It was interesting find that some of the classmates already pass the practice test for principal certification and took the one week ILD. Other observations are that we do not have a book summary assignment, no mid and final test, no progress monitors are required either because these are with the purpose of reviewing for testing.

Dr. Abernathy made a comment about that someone mention that these technology approaches and all about these technology tools actually are involving not a real world. I do not hear something so far of reality. Technology is the only real world for this era and this new generation of students. Actually my 20 years old son made me a comment about that he did not need a phone when he was at elementary level and now everybody start to use a cell phone at very young age. I love technology; we just need a little more help and practice than the young people.
