Educator Preparation and Development in the Long Range Plan
Goals of the Long-Range Plan of Technology, 2009-2010 is to support the Mission of Texas Public Education by preparing students “for success and productivity of a lifetime learner, a world class communicator, a competitive and knowledge worker, and an engaged and contributing member of the emerging global digital society” (LPRT, p viii).
This applies to all students and educators to be update towards technology and its applications for deliver knowledge and develop skills in order to be prepared for the 21st century.
The Educator Preparation and Development Area in the Long Range Plan for Texas describes in detail how to increase technology skills in educators by setting goals, needs and recommendations for staff development and promote continuous professional development during teachers’ careers. The goals are as follows: model update technology for students PreK-12, graduate prep programs knowing how to use technology and how apply the knowledge during teaching and learning processes, implement lessons including technology as a tool, where learning is collaborative, interactive, and personalized for students, and include curriculum integration with appropriate technology
Analysis of Star Chart data trends help us understand strongest and weaknesses areas.
Most schools show Developing Tech in different areas along several years. Differences from Advance Tech in previous years to Developing Tech is possibly because before was easier to master than now with all new advances in technology
With all possible budget cuts my recommendation is increase professional learning communities using online communication that beside effective is shipper in most cases
