Action Plan for Integration of Technology
The JCW will continue to implement technology programs and initiatives that support the campus mission to create learning environments that provide equitable experiences for students to participate in a rigorous curriculum that will prepare them for living and working in a increasingly information based society

Goal 1
Provide the tools and training for teachers and administrators to use technology applications regularly. Teachers use e-mail, class web page, voice mail, electronic grade book, electronic attendance, internet, DMAC assessment, and instructional delivery tools. Plan and oversee new teacher/administration orientation covering District network, email, class web page, voice mail and automated grade and attendance systems and give follow-up support. March 2011-end of the school year. The district will continue to provide the tools and training every year. Director of Technology, Tech Integration Coord., Tech Integration Specialist and Campus Techs In follow visits, new teachers are successfully using email, class web pages, voice mail, and the automated grading and attendance accounting.
An annual review of this strategy will take place in July before every school year.
Goal 2
Provide all teachers and students with technology skills used for learning activities including collaboration with peers from around the world. All teachers will use technology to move students into higher level of thinking and problem solving skills. District will communicate to parents and the community via the district web site, newsletters, open house, social media, and radio interviews all the technology best practices laid out in the plan
April 2010- end of the school year. Superintendent, Director of Technology, Principals and Teachers Community support for the technology program through feedback and through contributions to the District Education Foundation.
Goal 3
Encourage the use of distance learning opportunities without travel expenses.
District with collaboration of ESC will encourage increased use of distance learning, virtual trips and
communication using Skype. Explore the possibility of new distance learning centers for elementary grade level. March 2010- end of the school year. Director of Technology, Technology Integration Coordinator, Technology Integration Specialist, Region VI ESC, and contracted CNE. Equipment is purchased, put in place, teachers are trained, and teachers are using the equipment to bring distance educational programs and collaboration opportunities to the students.
Goal 4
The use of technology to promote parental involvement in the school. District will use technology effectively to promote parental involvement in the school. Campus webmasters will keep campus web pages and campus calendars up-to-date, along with teachers email addresses. A district e-newsletter will inform parents of events, projects, and students accomplishments that are occurring in the district. March 2011-end of the school year. Director of Technology, Technology Integration Coordinator, and Technology Integration Specialist, Campus Webmasters and Principals. Director of Technology, Technology Integration Coordinator, and Technology Integration Specialist will monitor campus Web pages to make sure they are up-to-day, and first e-newsletter of the year to parent will note important information on the Website.
Goal 5
Provide training to bring all teachers, library personnel, and administrators into compliance with SBEC proficiencies. 100% of teachers and campus principals will complete the teacher STaR Chart. 100% of teachers and campus principals will complete the STaR chart by the state assigned deadline. Once a year. Teachers, Principals, Director of Technology. Teacher and Campus STaR Charts are entered into the on-line system at the TEA website.
Goal 6
Use campus planning to provide supporting resources, such as services, software, other electronically delivered learning materials, and print resources that will be acquired to ensure successful and effective integration of technology into all classrooms, libraries and administrative offices. Technology planning will begin at the campus level collaboratively developed by campus administrators and teachers on a campus technology committee-guiding policy and practice. All campuses will continue to have a campus technology plan. March 2011-endo of the year. Principals, Campus Technology Committee. Plans are turned in to Director of Technology.
An annual review of this strategy will take place in July before every school year.
Goal 7
Include technology into PK grade level lesson plans. At least 20 minutes weekly use Smart Board.
Technology in center time. Use of four shuffles to read books in reading center. Use of three leapsters. And two computer with Starfall website. March to end of the school year. Curriculum Director, PK Team Leader, PK and Head Start Teachers Students will be observed and make anecdotal records when they use the equipment.
